Notes for MILES BRITTAIN/BRITTON:
In the second war with England, North Carolina
was invaded in 1813 and in response to Governor Hawkins'call for troops, two
companies from Pitt Co., about 125 men and officers, were enlisted. Miles
Britton was a private in Captain George Eason's Company.
In July 22, 1822, Miles
lived in Florence, Landerdale Co., Alabama. I think he didn't married Annie
Ward when he returned from Alabama.
Notes for ANNA WARD:
1860 census, Anna
Whitehead, age 63, b. N.C., Elizabeth Pilgreen, age 32, N.C., serving
Elizabeth Pilgreen
lived with Annie till Annies death in 1778. She then went to live with Nancy
Ward Britton wife of Lemuel Britton and her daughter Nancy Annie Mary Britton.
In the 1880 census it states that Nancy and Elizabeth are both 67 years old
this would give them a birth date around 1813.
Elizabeth Pilgreen couldn't read or write. Maybe she was a Ward who
married a Pilgreen and is related to Nancy and Ann Ward ?

Notes for NANCY BRITTAIN:
On the 1820 census there is a woman 16 to
26 years I think it is Nancy Brittain who lives with John and Mary
Brittain. In 1837 James Brittain gives
up any clam that he would of gotten of his fathers when his mother died and
brother Miles and Nancy Brittain, dec. in Pitt co. N.C. 1837. Who is Nancy
Brittain ? Wife Sister to daughter of ?

Notes for FRUSANNAH ?:
Frusannah Britton is on page 178 of Hertford
Co. N.C., 1820 census
000100 males, 20201 females, and 6 slaves. I
think she is the mother of William Britton who I think is living with his
mother caring for her because he is not on this census. It looks like the 1
male would be William, females are his wife and children and his mother.
