Oldest Known Ancestor

Adin MASON (b. 1774 VA d. 1826 TN) ..... Gaylord L. Mason

The earliest proven ancestor of my family is Adin Mason who was born in Virginia. He married Mary "Polly" Womack in Campbell County, Virgina on Dec. 18, 1806. 
He then moved to Cocke County, Tennessee about 1808 and spent the last fifteen or twenty years of his life living there. 
Very few records of Adin Mason have been found and very little is known about him. His son, Burrow, moved to McDonough County, Illinois abt 1836 
and started a large and still thriving family. I hope this DNA research will help find Adin's ancestors and help us to know more about our Mason family.
 
Adin Mason, born 20 Mar., 1774 in Va., died 26 Oct 1826 in Cocke Co., Tn.
   Md. Mary Polly Womack 18 Dec., 1806 in Campbell County, Va., Polly was born abt. 1785 in Virginia and died prior to 1850 in McDonough Co., Il.
 
Adin & Polly had the following children. All eight children were born in Tennessee.

Burrow Mason married Evaline Hendrickson on 8 Dec. 1846 in McDonough County, IL. 
Burrow d. 14 Apr. 1888 and Evaline d. 25 July, 1892. Both are buried in Scott Cemetery, Bethal Township, McDonough County, Illinois.

They had the following 11 children. All children born in McDonough County, Illinois.

Benjamin Burr Mason married Mary Nancy Clark on 20 Dec 1883 in McDonough Co. Mary was born 3 Dec 1865 and d. Nov. 11, 1943. Benjamin d. 16 Apr, 1907.
