THOMAS¹⁰ MASON (JOHN⁹, JOHN⁸, WILLIAM⁷, THOMAS⁶, RICHARD⁵, THOMAS⁴, THOMAS³, EDWARD², WILLIAM¹)^1,2 was born March 07, 1721/22 in Hanover County, Virginia^3,4, and died 1768 in Halifax County North Carolina. He married ELIZABETH TURNER^5,6 Abt. 1750⁶. She was born October 01, 1733^7,8, and died October 06, 1784.

Thomas Mason received a land grant from the king of England of 400 acres of land in Edgecombe County, North Carolina in 1744. His son, Turner¹¹ Mason, was born there and was the ancestor who fought in the Revolutionary War and eventually settled the family in Georgia. His son, William Lowe¹² Mason, had a plantation known as Clay Hill prior to the Civil War. His son, James T.¹³ Mason, died during the Civil War at Vicksburg, Mississippi.
